OSHA sanitation standards for construction are straightforward, but they catch contractors off guard more often than they should. The requirement isn't just about having a toilet nearby — it's about proximity, condition, and accessibility.
Under general industry guidelines, one toilet is required for every 20 workers. For smaller crews of 10 or fewer on a short-duration job, a nearby facility can sometimes satisfy the requirement — but that's a gray area most site managers in Chesterfield don't want to test. The cleaner move is a unit on-site.
Servicing matters as much as placement. A unit that's been sitting on a hot site for two weeks without a pump-out isn't just unpleasant — it's a compliance issue. Our service schedules for Chesterfield, MO construction accounts are set based on crew size, not just the calendar.
If you're managing a crew and want to check your current setup, give us a call. We'll help you evaluate whether your sanitation situation is right-sized for the job.
OSHA guidelines call for 1 unit per 20 workers. For larger crews in Chesterfield, MO, we recommend additional units to reduce wait times and maintain compliance on active sites.
For most Chesterfield construction accounts, weekly servicing is the baseline. High-use sites with larger crews can be scheduled for twice-weekly or more frequent service calls.
Let us know in advance. We can reposition units to a new location in Chesterfield, MO or swap the existing unit for a more appropriate type if your project scope changes.
